My Story
My name is Theasha (Tye) Gibbs.
I’m a therapist originally from Queens New York with a strong Jamaican heritage upbringing. I am a veteran of the world's greatest Air Force where I served as a member of the Security Forces unit and then crossed trained into Chaplain Services. This is when I realized my deep passion for supporting people on their journey toward healing, self-discovery, and personal growth. I hold my master's in social work from Fordham University and take pride in my civilian career in the social services field as a strong leader. My goal is to help you become the best version of yourself and unlock the unique gifts you carry within.
Beyond my work as a therapist, I am also a passionate singer. I enjoy using my gift and passion of singing to help people heal.
Whether it’s lighting a candle, reading a book in my rocking chair, listening to podcasts that pour into my growth and development along with practicing mindfulness and staying connected to God; I believe that life is about finding balance, and I carry this philosophy into my therapy work. I enjoy helping others discover how they can bring more peace, joy, and fulfillment into their own lives, just as I strive to do in my own.
I look forward to the opportunity to connect with you and help you on your journey to growth and healing!
About Gift Therapy
In my therapy practice, I specialize in helping individuals navigate a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, low self-esteem, trauma, and grief. These struggles can feel isolating and overwhelming, but my approach is grounded in creating a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can feel truly heard and understood.
I believe that therapy is a collaborative process—one where we work together to explore and process your experiences in a safe and supportive environment. I understand that each person’s journey is unique, and I tailor our work to meet your specific needs, empowering you to find your own path forward.
Whether you are dealing with anxiety that impacts your daily life, working through the weight of grief, or trying to heal from past trauma, we can work together to develop coping strategies, challenge limiting beliefs, and develop new ways of thinking and responding to life’s difficulties. My aim is to help you build resilience and rediscover your inner strength, so you can not only overcome challenges but thrive in your personal and professional life.
By fostering a space of trust and empathy, I strive to support you in uncovering deeper insights into yourself and your experiences, allowing you to build healthier relationships with others and cultivate a greater sense of self-worth. Therapy is an investment in your well-being, and I’m here to walk alongside you as you work toward a more fulfilling, balanced life.
